Egglamps are made using real eggs. We aim to use the best organic free range eggs, source them straight from local farmers or find eggs that are out of date at the supermarket.
What about the inside?
Bakeries
We also have connections to local bakeries. With bigger orders, the insides of the eggs are donated to these bakeries who make scones, brioche and other nice pastries.
Artworks
Currently we use the inside of the eggs to make our own paint: egg tempera. Together with natural pigments, this paint is used to make new paintings in the studio.

Wat is ie toch leuk! Altijd een ei aan de ontbijttafel voor iemand die zelf geen ei kan koken (althans nooit de moeite doet). Het licht van Eilamp Wit doet mij denken aan gezellig kaarslicht, dus ook ideaal als romantisch tafellampje of te gek nachtlampje!

De Eilamp geeft een mooi zacht schijnsel. De stevige voet, is niet van een echte eierdoos te onderscheiden. Een helder lichtje op een stevige voet. Ik ben er blij mee!

Egglamp Artworks
Dutch Design
Ruben de Haas (1988) is an artist and designer from Amsterdam. He loves color, nature and playing with different materials.
He makes his own paint, creates lamps from bucket handles, chairs from pallets and launched the Egglamp during the Dutch Design Week at Piet Hein Eek, Eindhoven in 2023.
